The real Miami that comes from Ohio finished their season upsetting the 2022 MAC champs Toledo. They dominated this season going 11-2, and take on an App State team that has played well to finish the season including a big win against James Madison in Harrisonburg. However, they finished the season getting demolished by Troy. Yes you read that right… Troy.

How are we expecting a team who lost to Troy to beat the MAC champions? Also, how are they 6.5 point favorites? Makes no sense to me.

Miami of Ohio has an absolutely stellar defense this season, who hasn’t given up more than 16 points in the last 5 games. App State is also missing their stud RB due to the transfer porta, which could prove to be a massive loss and advantage for Miamil. Sure, Miami has tons of quarterback questions and as of now the starter has yet to be announced but the recipe is simple. They need to just run the ball and play their patented defense.

For player props on this matchup, I have one player I have got my eye on. Rashad Amos for Miami has been a developing star this year garnering 12 total touchdowns. Given that Miami will likely be playing a very run heavy offense, I’ll be taking Amos to score a touchdown as we wait for the rushing prop number to release. In 4 of his last 5 games he has hit 74, 82, 118 and 163 rushing yards, and I have a solid feeling that this rushing trend continues against Appalachian State. He has also had 7 touchdowns in his last 4 games to pair with the spectacular rushing numbers. He did start the season a little slow (keep in mind they played the fake U Miami, and Cincy) but they have begun to really rely on him.

I won’t continue to beat a dead horse about the Miami defense and the likely game script but let’s also take App State’s team total to go under 24.5 for good measure.
