Maryland at Michigan State, 9:00pm ET
These clubs come into this Tuesday night clash in different spots in their season. The Terps are riding their biggest high in a while, on a 4 game winning streak, while the Spartans are on a two game skid and looking for a bounce back W at home.
One of the overarching themes in the Big Ten this season is the homecourt advantage every team has had. 13 of 14 of the teams have a winning record at home and 9 of 14 are positive ATS in conference. Maryland ranks middle of the pack at 3-4 ATS on the road while Michigan State ranks 6-5 ATS at home. Both are negligible but the most glaring fact is that Maryland has only won once on the road, which was last Saturday at cellar dweller, Minnesota. The Breslin Center vs a fired up Michigan State squad is a different beast. Sparty should be able to limit what Maryland do best, which is get to the line and score inside the arc. Both of which they rank top 130 in. The Terps have been a completely different team on the road and the fact that they rely on scoring by getting to the stripe at the 20th highest clip of any in the nation, spells trouble. As long as Michigan State can take care of the ball on offense, they should be able to grind out a victory and cover vs a Terps squad that has failed to eclipse 1 PPP on the road against anyone in conference, sans Minnesota.
This is a great get right spot for a Sparty squad that is reeling. Maryland is worth selling high on, especially on the road.
