The LA Bowl brings a lot of intrigue in terms of what each team will bring to the table because of the infamous portal exits. Boise State will be without their starting QB in Taylen Greene, who transferred to Arkansas, and now will be stuck starting a 3rd string QB in freshman CJ Tiller against a stout UCLA defense that returns most everyone but star defensive lineman Laiatu Latu. This UCLA defense ranks top 2 in opponent EPA per play and brings a top 10 pressure to boot. Tiller has yet to start a game as a freshman and has taken two snaps in his career. I’d expect some growing pains for the young signal caller against a defense like the Bruins have.

On the other side of the ball, the Bruins O should be in business against a porous Boise State defense and will have Ethan Garbers (who rotated with portal entrant Dante Moore) for this game. The Broncos was ranked 71st in the nation according to EPA per play. Garbers on the other hand, is not TO prone and should be a step up from Moore, all things considered.

This feels like a great opportunity for Chip Kelly to get off the hot seat (and mat) a little, and collect a win that will boost them into next season. The spread moved from -3.5 but UCLA -4.5 is my favorite play in this one and I foresee a double digit win for the Bruins in their hometown.
